McLaren Vale combines the best experiences Adelaide has to offer, with rolling vineyards and beautiful coastal landscapes. The unique Mediterranean climate sets it apart from the northern Barossa region, making for richer, fuller flavoured reds which can be sampled at over 80 Cellar Doors, any of which we would be happy to experience with you.

McLaren Vale’s winemaking history dates back to the 1830s, making it one of South Australia’s oldest and most celebrated wine regions, shaped by generations of passionate growers. Today, it’s known for its exceptional red varieties, especially Shiraz, Grenache, and Cabernet Sauvignon, and its standout whites including Chardonnay, Fiano, and Vermentino.
There is a reason to visit in every season. Spring brings the lush green vines, which sit in contrast to the brown Australian hills underneath as the climate grows warmer. Summer gives us almost exclusively blue skies, with amazing views and plenty of perfect photo opportunities (we’ll take all the photos you need!). Autumn is harvest time, and also brings the changing colours. Personally, our favourite season is Winter, which provides for quieter, cosier cellar doors and a chance to watch the wind and rain across the hills and vines.
The McLaren Vale main street is where we find a strong sense of community and place. Less tourist orientated than the Barossa, the town exists primarily to service the local population that escaped the city to live in the country, and as such, has a very down-to-earth feeling.
